There are dreamers and there are realists in this world. You’d think the dreamers would find the dreamers, and the realists would find the realists. But more often than not, the opposite is true. You see, the dreamers need the realists to keep them from soaring too close to the sun. And the realists… well without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground.
Jay: Back in ‘68 when I was sweeping up hair in that barber shop, I had this mental picture of the family that, if I was lucky enough, one day I would end up with. Perfect wife, perfect kids. Guess what? I didn’t get any of that. Wound up with this sorry bunch. And I’m thankful for that every day. Well… most days.
Mitchell: “I came out of the closet in my mid-twenties. I had to actually come out to my dad three times before he finally acknowledged it. I’m not sure if maybe he was hoping he heard it wrong, like I’d said, ‘Dad, I’m grey.’”
